Stopping, copying and planning campaigns
Stop a run that's still sending, copy last month's campaign, and use the calendar to avoid emailing the same list twice in a day.
Stop a run
If you spot a mistake while a campaign is still sending, press Stop on its run (on the campaign's Results tab or the run's page). Vecta tells you first how many emails are still waiting and how many already went, then cancels the waiting ones.
- Emails already sent can't be taken back.
- Everything still waiting is cancelled, including people held back by a subject test and this run's planned follow-ups.
- Cancelled emails show as cancelled in the run's log, so the numbers still add up.
- A run that has finished sending has nothing left to stop.
Stop is not Pause
Stop ends one run. A recurring campaign will still start its next run on schedule. To stop a recurring campaign for good, press Pause on it as well.
Duplicate a campaign
Duplicate on a campaign's page opens the new-campaign wizard filled in with the same template, subject, list, mailboxes, pace, tracking, follow-ups and subject test. Nothing is sent until you press send, and the original is untouched. Change only what's different, such as the list or the date.
The calendar
Campaigns → Calendar shows a month at a time: what's scheduled, each cycle of recurring campaigns, planned follow-ups (marked ↳), and what has already been sent. Days where two different campaigns reach the same list are highlighted and listed above the calendar, so you can move one before people get two emails in a day.
- Times are shown in your workspace time zone (Settings).
- An hourly campaign appears once a day, not 24 times.
- Follow-up dates are estimates: they shift if a send takes longer than planned or someone replies.
If something looks wrong
- I pressed Stop but one more email went out: that email was already being sent at that moment. It shows as sent in the log.
- There's no Stop button: the run has finished, or nothing is waiting.
- Duplicate opened a different draft: the wizard picks up your most recent draft. Finish or discard the older one first.
- A campaign is missing from the calendar: drafts and finished one-off campaigns don't show as planned. A sent campaign appears on the day it ran.
