The dashboard, "Needs you" and the Monday email

What each Needs-you card means, how "stuck" differs from "waiting for the limit", how best time to send is worked out, and the Monday summary.

Needs you

The top of the dashboard shows cards only when something wants your attention, and stays empty when all is well.

CardWhat it meansWhat to do
Mailbox needs fixingA mailbox's last test failed, or reading its inbox for replies is failing.Open it, check the password and server, and run its test.
N replies waitingPeople answered and you haven't opened Replies yet.Open Replies.
“…” seems stuckA campaign has emails waiting, nothing has gone out for 20+ minutes since they were allowed to go (time outside its sending hours doesn't count), and its mailbox has room to send.Check the mailbox. A failing mailbox is the usual cause.
“…” continues tomorrowA campaign is waiting only because today's sending limit is used up.Nothing. It carries on by itself.
“…” hasn't startedA scheduled or recurring campaign was due over 15 minutes ago but hasn't started.Check that it isn't paused.

Today and this week

The four cards show the last 7 days, today's figure underneath, a 14-day trend line, and how the week compares with the 7 days before. Each thing is counted on the day it happened: an open today counts today even if the email went out last week.

Best time to send

Vecta looks at your own tracked campaigns from the last six months and finds which weekday and hour your emails got opened most. A slot with only a few emails isn't trusted on luck: it's pulled toward your overall average until it has enough data. Nothing is suggested until there are about 150 tracked emails and 25 opens.

  • When you schedule a campaign, the suggestion appears under the date box with a Use it button.
  • It learns from your list, so it changes as you send. A different audience may behave differently.
  • It only knows about campaigns with open tracking on, and opens are imperfect (see Reading your results).

The Monday summary email

On Monday mornings (08:00 or later, in your workspace time zone) the owner gets one email: what went out in the last 7 days, opens, clicks, replies, bounces and unsubscribes, the biggest campaign, and anything that needs attention. A quiet week with nothing wrong sends nothing. Turn it off in Settings.

If something looks wrong

  • I didn't get the Monday email: check it isn't switched off in Settings, that it wasn't a completely quiet week, and your spam folder. It is sent to the workspace owner only.
  • "Best time" says it needs more history: send a few campaigns with open tracking on.
  • A card says stuck but the mailbox looks fine: open the run. If emails are going out slowly because of a long pace setting, it clears itself.
  • Numbers differ from the totals lower down: the cards count by when things happened, the totals below count everything ever.
